Roy J. Donovan Age 76, on November 30th, 2012 of Braintree, MA, formerly of South Boston, MA, of cancer. Survived by his beloved wife, Doris Donovan, son Darren Donovan and his wife Carrie, son Sean Donovan and his wife Paula, and his daughter Maura Sheehan and her husband Ronald. Devoted and loving Grandfather to Brenna Sheehan, Hanna Sheehan, Connor Donovan, Kaitlin Donovan and Delia Donovan. Caring brother to Harold Donovan and wife Virginia, sister Carol Connolly and husband Jack, and many wonderful nieces and nephews and loyal friends. A veteran of the US Army, Roy served in Germany during the Korean War in the US Corp of Engineers. A union carpenter by trade, Roy went on to work for Stone & Webster Engineering where he built nuclear power plants and later capped his successful career by working on the Deer Island Effluent Tunnel project, which is noted as one of the major engineering accomplishments that contributed to the successful clean up of Boston Harbor. Above all, Roy was best known and loved for his wonderful sense of humor and the great joy it brought to all that knew him. He will be missed deeply. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, December 10th at 10am at the St. Augustine Chapel located on 181 Dorchester Street in South Boston, MA.
