Cecile M. (Banville) Bosse, age 98 of Salem, died at home, Saturday, December 1, 2012 following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Rosario A. ‘Babe’ Bosse.
Born in Nashua, NH and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Jean Baptiste and Alphonsine (Lebrun) Banville. As a young woman, and prior to her marriage, Cecile worked as a monitor in production for CBS Hytron which was later to become Sylvania. Through Sylvania, she was sent to Emporium, PA to a research and development facility to study new methods in the production of incandescent light bulbs. It was during those years that she was active in the Union St. Jean Baptiste Drum and Bugle Corps of Salem.
Cecile was a loving, caring, and gentle woman who was devoted to her husband, and their children. She enjoyed music, playing piano, cooking, knitting, traveling and most especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cecile was also active in the former St. Joseph Parish of Salem and was a member of the parish sodalities, Dames de la Ste. Famille as well as the Third Order of Mary. She was currently a communicant of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem.
She is survived by two sons, Paul J. Bosse and his wife Linda of Salem, Robert R. Bosse of Peabody, a daughter, Janice A. Cudihy of Salem, seven grandchildren, Patricia Murray and her husband Michael, Christine Cudihy, Michelle Parsons and her husband Ryan, Christopher Bosse and his wife Lauren, John Peter Bosse, John Paul Bosse, Esq., and Michael Bosse. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Claire, Julia, Brian, Julianna, Isaac, Nathan, Andrew and Leah, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Andre and Albert Banville and sisters, Eva Marquis-Talbot, Rose Banville and Rita Cimon.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 10 A.M. to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours at the funeral home: Thursday, 4 to 8 P.M.
