Obituary

Lois Voyles McCluskey, age 91, died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Landmark of Desoto Nursing Home in Horn Lake, MS. She was born February 9, 1921 in Burnsville, MS to the late Andrew Newton and Ethel Morgan Voyles. Lois was a faithful member of New Life Assembly of God, actively involved in church work and considered herself a missionary. She retired from Westinghouse after many years of service and maintained a close relationship with many of her co-workers with whom she traveled and spent time with at get-togethers. While in the nursing home Lois enjoyed spending time quilting and playing Bingo.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM with Bro. Carl McClain officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Herschel McCluskey, Billy McCluskey, Jerry McCluskey, D.L. Gray, Bobby Voyles and Ronnie Oliver serving as pallbearers. Sonny McCluskey, Danny McCluskey, Bud McCluskey, Kevin Avant, Randy McCluskey, Scotty McCluskey, Steve McCluskey and Ronald McCluskey will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Lois is survived by her son, James McCluskey (Molly) of Senatobia, MS; one brother, Olin Voyles (Bernice) of Booneville, MS; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyit T. McCluskey; two sons, Ernest L. McCluskey and Jimmy H. McCluskey; three sisters, Zelma McCluskey, Lorene Voyles and Christine Voyles; and four brothers, G. B. Voyles, Gobern Voyles, Alfred Voyles and Ezra Voyles.
