Harold D. Smith, 87, of Hudson died surrounded by his family, Friday November 30, 2012 at Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua. Harold was born May 25, 1925 in Nashua and was a son of the late Herbert D. and Blanche (Greeley) Smith. He was raised and educated in Hudson and was a lifelong resident.
Harold made his living as a truck driver, but his life’s work was as a farmer. He raised horses and other animals on his farm in Hudson, and will forever be remembered for his love and respect of animals. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Harold was one of 10 children and also had 10 children, he is survived by one remaining sister.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Hazel V. (Wilmot) Smith of Hudson, 10 children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a celebration of Harold’s life was held Saturday December 8, 2012 at the Horse Pond Fish and Game Club, 13 Horse Pond Avenue, Nashua, NH from 1 to 4pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society or other charity of one’s choice.
