Sumner F. Davis, Jr., 74, of North Andover died Saturday, December 01, 2012 at the Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover, surrounded by his loving family.
Sumner, son of the late Sumner Sr. and Mildred (Pryor) Davis, was born in Andover on August 19, 1938. He graduated from Punchard High School in 1956. He was the Director of Product Development for Converse, Inc. in Wilmington, where he worked for over 35 years until his retirement in 1991.
In his free time, Sumner enjoyed bowling, golfing, spending time at his second home in Alabama, and driving his convertible. He was also an avid Red Sox fan.
He will be deeply missed by his fiance, Linda Soucy of N. Andover; 4 children, Kevin Davis and his wife, Tammy, of Auburn, NH, Cheryl Suliveras and her husband, Hiram, of Plaistow, NH, Linda Whelton of Salem, NH, and Christopher Davis and his wife, Arlene, of Arizona; 7 grandchildren, John, Tara, Taylor, Samantha, Elizabeth, Michael, and Nicolas; sister, Joyce Regan, of N. Andover; and several nieces and nephews.
