
D. Michael “Mike” Brophy age 68 of Easton, died Tuesday November 27, 2012 at Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband for 43 years of Judith M. (Lyons) Brophy. Born and raised in Brockton a son of the late Joseph and Helena (O’Connell) Brophy, Mike was a 1961 graduate of Brockton High School. Following High School he enlisted in the US Navy and served as a medical corpsman. For the past 27 years he had been a resident of Easton.
Mike retired from the Town of Easton School Department after 20 years of service in the custodial department. Previously he had worked for many years at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy. Mike lived a simple life but treasured his time spent with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, watching sports, the History Channel and spending time with friends at the Polish White Eagles in Brockton and Buddy’s Union Villa in Easton.
Mike is also survived by his two daughters Teresa M. Brophy of Taunton and Robin L. Brophy of Michigan. He was the brother of Kevin Brophy of W. Bridgewater, John “Jack” Brophy of Randolph, Anne DeVito of Bridgewater, Richard Brophy of E. Bridgewater and the late Joseph and Timothy Brophy. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Friday December 7, from 3-5pm followed by a Funeral Service at 5 pm. Burial will be at a later date.
