WORCESTER-Margaret V. “Muggsey” (Powers) Peltier, 86, of 14 Stearns Street, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, June 20th in Radius Healthcare Center. Her husband Clarence J. “Beansie” Peltier died in 1968. She leaves a son Michael J. and his wife Jody Peltier of Oxford, a daughter Sharon M. wife of Alfred E. Query, Jr., of Auburn, a brother Robert Powers of Holden, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. 4 brothers William, James, Jack and Francis Powers and 4 sisters Mae Howard, Bridget Chicoine, Katherine Callahan and Helen T. Powers predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Robert and Catherine (Maloney) Powers. Mrs. Peltier was employed by the Worcester School Department, and was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish and its Golden Age Club. She was affectionately known to many as “Ma Pell”, and was an avid Celtic and Red Sox fan.
The funeral is Thursday, June 24th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, June 23rd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
