FALL RIVER…Janice R. (Carrier) Burns, 76, of Somerset died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the wife of Robert J. Burns.
She was born in Fall River a daughter of the late Wilfred and Lucenda (Picard) Carrier and had lived in Somerset since 1968.
She was employed by Verizon as a General Clerk retiring in 1985.
Mrs. Burns was a member of the Irish Heritage Club of Fall River and was a former member of the Somerset Planning Board. She also enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her husband, 2 daughters: Donna Harrington of Somerset and Jean Murphy of Swansea, a brother Kenneth Carrier of Fall River, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several niece and nephews. She was the mother of the late Glenn Burns and James Burns. She was sister of the late Lorraine St. Pierre, Arthur Bissonette, Claire White, and Norbert Carrier.
