
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sammie L. Pinson who was called home on November 24, 2012.
Sammie was born on April 8, 1934. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he worked as a cook during the 20 plus years he served his country. He was also a loyal employee of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Sand & Gravel operation for 20 plus years.
He was pre-deceased by his loving wife Margery Maxine (Sebastian) Pinson. He was also a proud father to Evelyn Pinson, Grandfather to Tia Pinson, Great Grandfather to Ernest Jr., Sammie Lee, and Deavon Malcom Pompey all of Mashantucket, Connecticut. He was pre-deceased by his parents Edward & Betti Pinson; brothers Goffie L. Pinson & Lee D. Pinson; Sisters Ora Lee Crawford, Luerissie Ross & Elizabeth Gibson all lived in the Houston, Texas area.
Sammie was loved by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
Please join us for visitation at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Saturday from 11:00am to 12noon, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service at noon.
Flowers will be gratefully accepted and may be delivered to the funeral home by 5pm Friday.
