Black, Eddie T., 79, passed away November 24, 2012 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. Eddie was born in Ohio County, Kentucky and was an Alumni of Manual High School. He retired from Naval Ordnance where he was a planner for over 35 years and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Eddie was a member of V.F.W. Iroquois Hill Post #6182, a charter member of Shively #951, PRP #959 Masonic Lodges, Scottish and York Rites, Shively Eastern Star Chapter #566, Past Potentate of Kosair Shrine Temple, active with the Provost and Directors Staff Clubs, and the Order of Quetzalcoatl, Teocalli #20.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Black and Essie Hourigan Burks and grandchildren, Seth and Kyle Dixon.
Survivors include his loving wife and soul mate, Judith Smith Black; children, Beverly Schoen (Kevin), Jade Dixon, and Shawn Weatherly (Sheena); grandchildren, Michael Schoen, Gavin, Brady, and Miley Dixon.
Funeral service will be 1:00pm Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-8 and Wednesday 11-1 at the funeral home.
