James D. Maddox, 75, of Worcester died Tuesday, November 20th at home. He leaves four sisters, Shirley Maddox, Gloria May Adams, Ollie E. Walker all of Worcester and Jeanette D. Smith of Birmingham, Alabama; two grandchildren, Felicia and Sheliah Morgan of Worcester and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Albenus R. and Mary (Warren) Maddox; a son, Mark Thomas; two brothers, Alvin Warren and John Maddox.
He was born in Richmond, Virginia. James lived in Worcester for 56 years and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Maddox worked in the maintenance department for Daniel Brann Trucking Company and then UMASS Memorial Medical Center. James was an avid reader and enjoyed the challenge of crossword and word search puzzles. He was intrigued by mathematics.
His funeral is Friday, November 30th O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at Noon. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
