Dorothy “Dot” Kewley Crownvoer, 95, of Tifton died Thursday, November 22, 2012, at Golden Living Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Dr. W. Ches Smith, III will officiate with burial to follow. The family will receive friends at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals on Saturday, November 24, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Mrs. Crownover was born on May 14, 1917 in Alabama and was the daughter of Edwin Horton Kewley and Sara Eller Hand Kewley, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis Crownover, Sr.; three sons, Henry Scott Crownover, James L. Crownover and Charles M. Crownover; one daughter, Billie Crownover Barnes; two brothers; and two sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Crownover is survived by two sons, Robert E. Crownover of Griffin and William L. Crownover, Jr. of High Falls; one daughter, Nancy Crownover Daws of Tallahassee, Florida; one daughter-in-law, Audrey Crownover of Ty Ty; one son-in-law, Don Barnes of Marianna, Florida; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
