Obituary

Mrs. Christine (Chisholm) McCarthy, beloved wife of the late Paul J. McCarthy, died at the Breamore Nursing Center in Brockton on Monday, November 19, 2012. She was 91 years old.
Born in Marshy Hope, Nova Scotia, Canada on April 21, 1921, she was the beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Agnes (Streatch) Chisholm. Mrs. McCarthy was a former member of the Ladies Sodality and was a longtime communicant of St. Colman Church in Brockton. Christine was a talented crafter, enjoying crocheting and sewing. She had worked for many years as a Switchboard Operator for Imperial Oil in Halifax, Container Corp. in Medford and was also employed By Barber Welting in Brockton. Above all, Christine was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be very sorely missed by her loving children; Christine A. and her husband Arthur Thurston of East Bridgewater, James P. and his wife Patricia McCarthy of East Wareham, four grandchildren; Jessica and Kara Thurston, both of East Bridgewater and Kimberly and Katie McCarthy, both of East Wareham, sister Joan MacKenzie of Trenton, Nova Scotia and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Saturday, November 24, 2012, at 8:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, 11 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
