Bernita Christine (Cook) Jansen, 92, passed away Thursday November 15, 2012 peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Jefferson Co., KY to William & Doskie (Allen) Cook.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, a Past President & Life Member of American Legion Auxillary Unit # 220, Life Member of V.F.W. Post # 5421 Auxillary, 8/40 Salon 585, Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital Auxillary volunteer with 25 years service, St. Helen Altar Society, St. Joseph's Orphans Society, St. Barnabas Golden Key Club.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, 5 Brothers and 2 Sisters.
Survivors include her loving Husband of 67 wonderful years, George W. "Bud" Jansen Sr.; her children: Janice E. Train (David), Susan M. Watkins (Huel), George W. Jansen Jr. (Mary), and Kay M. Short (David); 8 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1925 Lewiston Dr. with burial to follow in St. Michaels Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 2 - 8 PM at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy.
