Evans – Mr. K.J. Chow, 97, of 512 Arnlee Way, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Westwood Nursing Facility.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with Dr. Jacob Malone officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. Chow was born in Canton, China on November 15, 1914. He was a retired grocery merchant. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, the Chinese Sunday School, and the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of Augusta.
He is survived by his two sons, Edward (Grace) Chow of El Cerrito, CA., and Gerald (Peggy) Chow of Stone Mountain, a son in law, Stephen Wong of Evans, and a nephew, Frank Lee of Clark’s Hill, S.C.
He is also survived by five grandchildren, Beverly Chow of El Cerrito, CA, Pamela Kashiwabara of Monterrey, CA., Stanley Wong of Coppell , TX., Gwen Wong of Atlanta, and Jonathan Wong of Chevy Chase, MD., as well as his great grandchildren, Harrison and Mia Kashiwabara of Monterrey, CA., and Audrey and Evelyn Wong of Coppell, TX.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Anna Soo Hoo Gook Ying Chow, his daughter, the late Jane Wong, his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Jung Yuck Chow, and his sister, the late Toy Quie Chow Lee.
Pallbearers will be James Wong, Stephen Wong, Donnie Gunnels, Frank Lee, Gee Ping Loo and Scottie Loo.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at Westwood Nursing Facility, whose compassion, care and personal attention made K.J.’s life better.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
