Charles Whiting Schipellite, 65, of Naples, NY, formerly of Winchester, Nov. 12, 2012. He was the beloved son of Olive Faye (Shreve) and the late Guy L. Schipellite of Winchester, and was named in memory of his father’s Army Air Corp. companion and best friend, who gave his life in combat in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
Matriculating through the Winchester, MA school system, he graduated from Winchester High School in 1965 and enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably in country and overseas during the Vietnam Era.
Upon discharge, he attended Rochester Institute of Technology, and graduated in with a B.S. in Information Technology in 1972.
Mr. Schipellite spent his entire business career with Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester, NY and retired to his home in the Finger Lakes Region in 2007.
An accomplished woodworker, he engaged much of his time in retirement helping to build and create useful and elegant carpentry, projects and furniture pieces for his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, Olive, Charles leaves his brother, Roger D. Schipellite and his wife Terri of West Ossipee, NH. His brother David M. Schipellite predeceased him. He was also the dear nephew of Mary Grace of Enid, OK, and is further survived by many loving cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St. Winchester on Monday, Nov. 19 from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 155 Washington St., Winchester at 11AM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the animal shelter of one’s choice in remembrance of his beloved dog, “Timber”.
