Elizabeth T. “Betty” (Brunelli) DeSanctis 93, a lifelong Franklin resident, died Monday November 12, 2012 at the Maples Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham. She was the beloved wife of Vincent DeSanctis, whom she married on July 30, 1950, and celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this year.
Born in Franklin, October 26, 1919 a daughter of the late Francesco P. and Pia (Chiapucci) Brunelli, she was raised and educated in Franklin, and was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Betty was brought up working in the family business, beginning with Brunelli’s Grocery & Bakery on Alpine Place, followed by the Nile Home Bakery, Brunelli’s Clark Square Diner, & Brunelli’s Supermarkets. Once she retired, she stopped cooking, but still continued to be the family photographer. She also loved her flower gardens.
Surviving in addition to her husband, is a sister Pia Patete and sister in law Natalie Brunelli both of Franklin, a brother in law Achille DeSanctis and his wife Margaret of North Attleborough, multiple in laws in Italy, and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the United States.
She is the sister of the late, Livia Brunelli, and brothers, Frank, Alfred, Guido, Nelsi, and John Brunelli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Saturday Nov. 17th, at 8:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 9AM. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
