Thomas L. Stroud, 75, of New Bedford died Sunday June 13, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Middlesborough, Kentucky, the son of the late Romie and Ollie (Marshall) Stroud, he had lived in Fairhaven and New Bedford for most of his life.
Mr. Stroud was formerly employed as a security officer for Polaroid Corporation in New Bedford until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Graham of Fairhaven; a son, Wayne Stroud of Alabama; a brother, Virgil Stroud of Kentucky; two sisters, Thelma Sherley of New Bedford and Melissa Stroud of Chicago, IL; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Stroud of Indiana, and Elizabeth Stroud and Doris Stroud, both of Kentucky; a brother-in-law, Edwin Sherley of New Bedford; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and close friends.
He was the father of the late Bruce L. Stroud and Curtis Stroud, and brother of the late Lillian Watts, Shelby Stroud, Leroy Stroud and Floyd Stroud.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday June 18, 2004 at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday June 17, 2004 from 5-9 PM.
