Obituary

Norman P. Schorr, 83, of Fitzgerald, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Schorr was born February 24, 1929 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania to the late Paul Addison and Mary Louella Gamble Schorr. He attended high school and joined the United States Army at age 17, serving in occupied Japan shortly after the end of World War II. A former resident of Mt Vernon, Ohio, Mr. Schorr was a retired glasscutter for PPG and a self-employed carpenter. He moved to Fitzgerald in 1990 from Jacksonville, Florida. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a Mason.

He is survived by his children and their spouses: Terry Lee (Judy) Schorr of Fredericksburg, Texas, Paula Jean Steinmetz of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Kelly Sue (Terry) Watson of Fitzgerald, and Shelly Kaye (Norman “Junior”) Pelton of Frazeysburg, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two sisters: LaRue S. Arnold of Jacksonville, Florida and Jane Blair of Port Orange, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Walter William “Skip” Schorr.
