Harvey L. Grondin, 83 of Londonderry, NH, died Monday, June 14, 2004 in the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. Mr. Grondin was born in Lawrence, MA on May 4, 1921, a son of the late Rudolph and Violet (Lambert) Grondin. He was a resident of Londonderry since 1981, formerly living in Malden, MA for many years. He was a 1939 graduate of Lawrence High School, Lawrence, MA. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII. Mr. Grondin was a past commander of the VFW Post #8179 and a member of the American Legion Post #27 both in Londonderry. He had been employed as a postal clerk for the South Postal Annex in S. Boston, MA, retiring in 1981.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice V. (Monahan) Grondin of Londonderry, one son, Richard Grondin and his wife Cora of Portsmouth, NH, two daughters, Nancy Meuse and her husband John of Billerica, MA, Susan Chapman and her husband Paul of Nashua, NH, 13 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one sister, Shirley Braley of Groveland, MA, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son David Grondin in 1977.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 17th at 10:00am in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A graveside service will follow in the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at 1:00pm. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 - 9pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry.
