Alberta N. (Michaud) Chumack, 70, of Tampa, Florida, formerly of New Bedford, died Saturday November 10, 2012 unexpectedly in her sleep at her daughter Toni's home in Fall River.
Born in Van Buren, Maine, the daughter of the late Albert and Anita (Beaupre) Michaud, she lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to Tampa 20 years ago.
Mrs. Chumack was formerly employed as a deli manager for Publix Supermarkets in Tampa until her retirement.
She was an accomplished artist and wire jewelry instructor. She loved her family dearly.
She is survived by five children, Toni Souliere of Fall River, Terry Thompson of Bellingham, Michael MacDonald of Texas, Andre Chumack of Tampa, and Eileen Chumack of New Bedford; her siblings, Alphy Michaud, Abel Michaud, Allen Michaud, Anna Michaud, Alma Michaud, and Angela Chumack, all of New Bedford; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Venus Chumack, and sister of the late Alinda Hathaway and Alvin Michaud.
Her visiting hours will be held on Thursday November 15, 2012 from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, with a funeral service held during that period.
