LEICESTER: Stanley A. Stoskus 84, of 1075 Main St., died Friday, Nov. 9 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
He leaves his wife Madeline E. (Lilley) Stoskus, a son David Stoskus and his wife Trish of Ashburn, Va., two grand children; Dylan and Katelyn Stoskus of Ashburn, several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by two sons; Richard Stoskus in 1990 and Robert Stoskus in 2005, a grandson Paige Johnson in 2005, his brother Joseph and a sister Rose Karlon.
Stanley was a group leader at Norton Co. in Worcester where he worked for 38 years, retiring in 1990. He later was a driver for Soojian Farm in Leicester for several years.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Joseph and Mary Stoskus. He later served his country with the Army Air Corps during WWII and the Air Force during the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Aloysius-St. Jude Parish, the American Legion Post 443-Cherry Valley, a 3rd. degree member of the Leicester Knights of Columbus Council 4528, and the Senior Citizen Club of Leicester. He enjoyed casino gambling, gardening and breakfasts at “Buddy’s Spa” in Rochdale.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus #4528, Manville St., Leicester, Ma. 01524, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
