Muriel J. Burke, 82 of Derry, NH died Saturday November 10, 2012 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry, NH. Born on August 24, 1930 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of Frederick L. and Ruth (Ellis) Orne. Prior to residing in Derry, she was a resident of Tewksbury, MA for 40 years, moving to Naples, ME in 1991. Mrs. Burke was employed as a secretary at Raytheon in Bedford, MA.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William P. Burke of Naples, ME, five sons, William Burke of Lawrence, MA, Steven Burke of Haverhill, MA, Kenneth Burke of Claremont, NH, Scott Burke of Lynn, MA, and Christopher Burke of Hollis, NH, two daughters, Kathleen Proctor of Bradenton, FL, and Wendy Smith of Derry, twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers Ralph Orne of New Mexico, Robert Orne of Amesbury, MA and several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a calling hour was held on Saturday November 17, 2012 from 1:30 to 2:30pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. A memorial service followed at 2:30pm in the funeral home. Burial will held at the family’s convenience in Naples, ME.
