Obituary

Jack Langford Bassemer, 85, went home to be with his Lord, Thursday, November 8, 2012. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior on April 8, 1973, which assured him his home in Heaven.

Jack was born on February 7, 1927, in New Port, Arkansas. He came to Indiana when he was 20 years old and worked for Delco Remy for 42 years. He married Beverly Ann Walsh on April 28, 1947. God blessed them with 65 years of marriage.

God blessed them with six children; Michael Langford Bassemer, Alexandria, IN; Deborah Ellen Seulean, Northglenn, CO; Louann Faye Bouslog & Pastor James, New Buffalo, MI; Mary Beth Holzman, Anderson, IN; Jacqueline Kay Ford & Joey, Macon, GA and Julia May Metzger , Anderson, IN.

Jack was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Anderson for 39 years. He served as Deacon under the ministries of Dr. Don Camp and Dr. Leigh Crockett. He also served in the Bus Ministry (picking-up children for Sunday School) under the direction of Brother Ron Halbert for 20 years. Jack continued to serve the Lord transporting seniors to the "Keenagers Ministry". Jack's burden and focus of his life for 39 years up until six months of his home going to heaven was to get children and adults to church to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. He loved to be outdoors with family and friends hunting, fishing and mowing.

He & his wife Beverly, who survives, have been blessed with 19 grandchildren; Rodney Ballard, Todd Ballard, Pastor Corey Seulean; Brian Neeley; Valerie Endyk; Pastor Mark Bouslog; Michelle Hobart; Marsha Hooker; Melissa Bouslog; Melanie Bouslog; Jessica Holzman; Jake Holzman; Justin Holzman; Thomas Bowker; Hunter Bowker; Jake Bowker; Elyse Ford; Drew Ford and Zachary Metzger. God has also blessed them with 18 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe S. Bassemer and Madge (Langford); brother Bill Bassemer and sister Joy Gabe.

Celebration of life services will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 52 West Hartman Road of Anderson on Tuesday November 13 at 2:00 o'clock. Pastor Joshua Crockett of Grace Baptist Church along with Pastor James Bouslog will be officiating. Pastor Cory Seulean and Pastor Mark Bouslog grandsons of the deceased will be speaking at the service along with son-in-law, soloist, Joey Ford.

Visitation will be held at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service on Monday evening between 5 - 8 P.M. and Tuesday 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Indiana Christian Academy of Grace Baptist Church.
