John J. Maccini
of Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY: John J. Maccini, age 73 , a resident of Tewksbury for 47 years, formerly of N. Cambridge, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital on Wednesday, November 7, 2012.
He was the beloved husband of Marsha A. (Madore) Maccini, with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 12, 2012.
Born in Cambridge on August 16, 1939, John was the son of the late Alexander and Lena (Tosi))Maccini.
He was raised in North Cambridge and attended Cambridge schools.
Following high school, John served in the U.S. Army.
John was employed for 43 years by the Polaroid Corporation in Waltham, where he worked as a Plumber, Pipefitter, Employee Committee Representative, and Security Manager.
He enjoyed numerous activities including playing cards, following the New England Patriots and New York Yankees, and traveling with his wife to Florida and various other destinations.
John was an active member of the Sebastian, Florida Elks and the Sebastian River, Florida Loyal Order of Moose Lodge.
John was a dedicated, proud, and doting husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and cousin.
In addition to his beloved wife Marsha, he is survived by three children, John J. Maccini, Jr. of Stoneham, Michael L. Maccini of Tewksbury and his former wife Jennifer Sears and Michelle A. Itri and her husband Christopher of Tewksbury; his former daughter-in-law, Patrice Mason of Billerica; six grandchildren, Erica L., Andrea L., and Joseph E. Maccini, Jr. all of Billerica, Madison A., and Logan C. Itri, both of Tewksbury and Brian C. Maccini of Wilmington; one great grandson, Aiden P. Maccini of Billerica; three brothers, Alexander Maccini and his wife Bernadette of Barefoot Bay, FL and Dorchester, MA, Robert Maccini and his wife Frances of Arlington, and Richard Maccini and his wife Sandra of Melrose; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dorothy and Clay Stevenson of Allston; his brothers-in-law, Tom Evans of Dedham and William A. Madore of Tennessee; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
John was the father of the late Joseph E. Maccini and brother-in-law of the late Janet M. Evans Calling hours Friday, Nov. 9, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
