Mary (Sullivan) Sevigney, 80, of New Bedford died Saturday June 12, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Mark Sevigney.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Cornelius and Margaret (McGrath) Sullivan, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, where she had been a member of the Women's Guild.
Mrs. Sevigney was formerly employed as a teacher's aide in the New Bedford Public School System for 22 years until her retirement in 1993.
She was a graduate of Holy Family High School.
Survivors include two sons, Mark F. Sevigney, and his wife Sandra, of Assonet and M. Scott Sevigney of New Bedford; a granddaughter, Attorney Jennifer Sevigney Durand, and her husband Bertrand, of Stoughton; a grandson, Michael S. Sevigney of New Bedford; a brother, Joseph Sullivan of North Attleboro; two sisters,Eileen Perry of New Bedford and Helen Cloutier of California; and several nieces and nephews, including, Gene Perry and his wife Diane of Acushnet.
She was the sister of the late Jeremiah Sullivan, John Sullivan, William Sullivan, Cornelius Sullivan, and Marguerite Wilson.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordWednesday June 16, 2004 at 9 AM.Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday June 15, 2004 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
