Rogerio F. "Roger" Saraiva, 70, of New Bedford died November 6, 2012 at the New Bedford Jewish Nursing Home after a period of declining health.
He was the loving husband of Celeine M. (Hogan) Saraiva with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
Born in the town of Furnas, Sao Miguel, Acores, the son of the late Manuel and Eugenia (Ferreira) Saraiva, he lived in Fall River, before moving to New Bedford in 1970.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. James Church.
Mr. Saraiva was formerly employed as a salesman for Darwood Manufacturing in Fall River, Silversteins Family Store for many years and later for The Bay.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Roger E. Saraiva of Fairhaven; and Stephen T. Saraiva of New Bedford; and a sister, Odette Costa of Fall River; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Saturday, November 10th at 8 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. James Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, November 9th from 4-8 PM.
