Obituary

Mr. John J. Menzie, of North Andover, MA passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the age of 84 at the Edgewood Retirement Community surrounded by his loving family.

"Jack" was born on December 27, 1927 in Lawrence, MA to the late William and Katherine (Hannon) Menzie. He also lived for many years in Westford, MA, as well as in Andover, MA.

Mr. Menzie was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Merrimack College, class of 1952. He served in the United States Navy during WWII, and worked for New England Electric Company for 41 years. He was a parishioner of Saint Michael Church in North Andover, MA.

He enjoyed bowling, golf, crossword puzzles, playing 45's, traveling, and he especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by all of his family, including his wife of 51 years, Catherine (Corrigan) Menzie, his daughters Elizabeth Calder of North Reading, MA, and Kathleen Gailes and her husband Joel of Westford, MA, his sons Michael Menzie and his wife Kathleen of Reading, MA, and Timothy Menzie and his wife Lynne of North Reading, MA.

Mr. Menzie had 10 grandchildren Kaitlin, Kelly, Joseph, Matthew, Christopher, Lauren, Ryan, Henry, Nathan and Brandon. Mr. Menzie is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other close members of his extended family.

He is survived by one sister, Muriel MacKenzie, of Methuen, MA, and was predeceased by his siblings William Menzie, Ruth O'Donnell, Eleanor Menzie and James Menzie, and his beloved dog JD.

Mr. Menzie's funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Michael Church in North Andover, MA. His burial will take place at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
