Funeral Services for Pearl P. Payne, 64 of Ashburn will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 13, 2004 at the Ashburn First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Turner Co. Mrs. Payne passed away Friday afternoon at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was the daughter of the late Noah Leroy Phillips and Ruby Phillips Neighbors of Abbeville, Ga. A native of Turner Co., she has resided in Turner Co. most of her life and was the widow of the late Donald E. Payne. She was an active member of the Trinity Baptist Church where she served as the coordinator of many gospel sings. She was a longtime employee of Manhattan Shirt Co. and a homemaker.
Survivors in addition to her mother are her children, David A. Payne, Sr., Ashburn, Ga., Danny L. Payne, Adel, Ga., Steven D. Payne, Poulan, Ga., Donna M. McNair, Albany, Ga.; her brothers, Buddy Phillips, Cummings, Ga., Arthur Phillips, Sylva, N.C., Dennis Phillips, Abbeville, Ga.; her sisters, Dorothy Gibbs, Abbeville, Ga. and Barbara Keen, Ashburn, Ga.; 6 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 till 9 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
