Obituary

WORCESTER___Edmond O. Brunelle, 69, of 26 Wabash Ave., died Thursday June 10 in his home.

He is survived by a sister, Claire M. Schmidt and her husband, Alex Schmidt of Cape Cod; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Brunelle, of Worcester; his brother, Paul Brunelle of Worcester died in 2003, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces and his Crozier House family. He was born in Worcester, son of Edmond O. and Mae (McNally) Brunelle and lived here all his life.

Mr. Brunelle was a certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor and certified Clinical Supervisor at Crozier House 14 years and was still working at the time of his death. From 1986 to 1989 he owned and operated Colonial Video in Charlton. Previously he worked 9 years for the City of Worcester Commission on Elder Affairs as a Transportation Coordinator and Client-Advocate and before that he was an Assistant Professor of English for Mount Wachusett Community College and its Serviceman’s Opportunity College and the Shirley pre-release program. From 1960 to 1970 he worked for Assumption Preparatory High School where he was an English Instructor and Assistant Dean of Students 7 years and Assistant Director of the Summer School for 2 years.

He was a graduate of Assumption Preparatory High School and received his bachelor and masters degrees from Assumption College. He completed graduate studies at Clark University, Worcester State College and the Harvard Summer School.

Mr. Brunelle was a U.S. Army veteran and also served with the Mass. Army National Guard. He was a dedicated student and was dedicated to helping people with emotional problems.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday June 15 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday June 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.
