Obituary

…Tewksbury United Methodist Church; 92
TEWKSBURY - Sara C. “Sally” (Whiteley) Carline, age 92, an active parishioner at the Tewksbury United Methodist Church for the past 57 years, died Saturday morning at the Kindred Care Center in Newburyport following a six month decline in health. She was the beloved wife of James H. Carline, who died in 1984.
She was born in Providence, Rhode Island, October 1, 1920, a daughter of the late William and Kathleen (King) Whiteley. She was raised in Providence, and graduated from Bryant College in Rhode Island.
Following marriage, she moved to Tewksbury in 1955.
She joined the Tewksbury United Methodist Church, and became active by teaching Sunday School, as well as joining the Mary Martha Women’s Association at the church.
She was a world traveller with her husband and after his death travelled fearlessly unescorted. Remarkably, she visited places as far away as Australia in her eightieth year.
She will be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
At her request, funeral services were private. Memorial contributions to the Tewksbury United Methodist Church, 2335 Main St., Tewksbury, MA 01876, will be appreciated.
