John “Mike” Coburn of Westwood and Wareham, formerly of Needham died at Clark House at Fox Hill Village in Westwood on Thursday June 10, 2004. He was 87 years old. Born in Greenwich CT Mr. Coburn was a member of the graduating Class of 1935 of Brooks School. He was a graduate of Harvard College Class of 1939 and Harvard Business School Class of 1949. He served for many years as Alumni Treasurer and Class of 1935 Secretary of Brooks School. As a member of 1939 Harvard Class he served as a member of its Permanent Class Committee and from February 1990 he was its Class Treasurer. He served as a communications officer in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Coburn retired as a new business officer in 1979 from the Old Colony Trust division of the First National Bank of Boston. He is survived by his wife Jane S. (Shaw), two sons John JR. of Bonita Springs Fl and Lawrence S. of Ardmore PA and a daughter Joan C. Casini of Siena Italy. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd High Street Wareham on Saturday August 14 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
