Spurlin, John S., 58, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 27, 2012. He was an employee of The Kroger Company and a tradesman carpenter. He was a 1971 graduate of DeSales High School and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
He was predeceased by his mother, Ida C. Spurlin, and his sister, Nellie Spurlin Buehler.
He is survived by his loving family - wife, Joan Hartung Spurlin; daughters, Lindsay (Eric) Galey and Carrie (Ben) Parker of Chicago, Illinois, and son, Adam Spurlin; his father, S. C. Spurlin, his sisters, Cathy (Rod) Schaffer, Carrie Bibelhauser, Edna Spurlin, and Effie S. Hall of Charlotte, North Carolina; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and uncountable friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 noon. Thursday, November 1, 2012, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1925 Lewiston Drive, Louisville, Kentucky, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens.
John's family invites you to celebrate his life from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky.
