William "Bill" Bray, age 68, of Coffeeville, MS died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was born October 17, 1944 in Memphis, TN to the late Wade and Beulah Koonce Bray. Bill was an avid Ole Miss fan and enjoyed all sports. He spent many years coaching the Lady Cruisers Softball Team leading them to win the 1997 National Championship and was highlighted in MS Sports Magazine. Bill loved driving his truck. He retired as a driver for Sysco Foods then went back to work driving for FedEx where he was currently employed. He loved his family and spending time with this grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Cambridge Cemetery in Lafayette County, MS with Bro. James West officiating. Lary Langkawel, Donnie Bray, Jeff Bray, and Ronnie Bray will serve as pallbearers. Justin Bray, Walker Baker, John Gillon and Adam Slaughter will serve as honorary pallbearers.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Coffeeville, MS with Bro. James West officiating.
Bill is survived by his best friend and wife of 40 years, Willene Black Bray of Coffeeville, MS; two daughters, Shay Bray (John) Gillon of Grenada, MS and Jamie Bray (Timmy) Baker of Glenwood, AR; three sons, Jack(Fonda)Bray and Jonathan Bray both of Green Briar, AR, and Jason Bray of Coffeeville, MS; two sisters, Sara (Ben) Liles of Coffeeville, MS and Vera Ennis of Byhalia, MS; six grandchildren, Justin Bray, Morgan Bray, Walker Baker, Chelsea Allen, John C. Gillon and Adam Slaughter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mae Brigance and two brothers, Glenn Bray and Joseph McDonald Bray.
