Evelyn Williams Clements, age 83, of Douglas, GA passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012 at her residence following an extended battle with CANCER. Mrs. Clements was born June 22, 1919 to the late Goddin Williams and Mattie Herrin Williams. She was preceeded in death by her husband Willie "Bill" Clements.
Survivors include: Daughters, Joyce (Hal) Barnwell of Douglas, GA and Angelia Denise Waldron of Ambrose, GA.Sons: Rev. Gary (Shanda) Clements of West Green, GA. and Willie Don (Elsie) Clements of Newberg,OR.; Sisters: Louise Brown, Jean Hursey, Mary Peterson, Connie McNeese, all of Douglas GA; Phyllis Burch, WestGreen, GA; LaDonna Foshee, Birmingham, AL; Brothers: Glynn Merritt, Atlanta, GA and Fritz Merritt, Iowa. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by brother Earle Merritt.
Visitation will be Monday, October 29, 2012, from 6 to 9 PM. at Sims Funeral Home.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Eastside Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Clements and Dr. John Dobbins, officiating. Hal Barnwell will delivery the Eulogy. Interment will follow in the Douglas City Cemetery.
