Shirley Barber, 73, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Friday, October 26, 2012, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M., Sunday, October 28, 2012, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barber was born June 27, 1939 in Bacon County, Georgia to the late Hubert Leo Williams and Ruby Lee Hardrick Hamilton. She had lived in the community since 1974 coming from Bacon County. She was a former employee of Braddy’s Convenience Store and Modern Fibers. A member of the Ocilla Church of God, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband: Carlis L. Barber of Fitzgerald; son and daughter-in-law: Greg & Kim Barber of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law: Sheila & John Turner of Fitzgerald; two step-daughters and a son-in-law: Debbie & Keith Neal and Donna Bradham, all of Thomson; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
