James A. Murray, 65, of Derry, NH, died Thursday October 25, 2012 at Parkland Hospital after a period of declining health. He was born June 21, 1947 in Wilmington, MA and was a son of the late Malcom and Audrey (Carter) Murray. Mr. Murray was raised and educated in Wilmington and attended Wilmington High School. He resided in Wilmington most of his life, prior to moving to NH. He has been a resident of Derry for the past 15 years. Mr. Murray served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War, and was employed as a security guard for many years with Raytheon. He was a former auxiliary police office with the city of Wilmington, past Commander of American Legion Post 136 of Wilmington, a member of the Social Naturalization Club of Methuen and VFW Post 1617 of Derry. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and going out to eat at his favorite restaurant in Derry.
Members of the family include his son and daughter-in-law Thomas D. and Michele-Lee (Marcoux) Murray of Derry, two grandchildren, Samantha Anne Murray and Aaron C. Lussier, both of Derry. He was predeceased by his brother, Harold Murray.
Following cremation, a visitation was held on Wednesday October 31st from 9 to 11:30am at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial service followed at 11:30am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Memorial Program P.O.
