Nicola J. Morra, 87, of Dartmouth passed away Wednesday October 24, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of M. Jacqueline (Menard) Morra.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Rocco and Elizabeth (Capezza) Morra, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Mr. Morra was formerly employed as a firefighter for the New Bedford Fire Department for 22 years until his retirement.
He was a member and Past President of the New Bedford Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 841.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Clifford J. Morra of Freetown; a brother, Rocco Morra, Jr. of Florida; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Kelly Morra; a great-granddaughter, Yasmine Morra; and his devoted friend and caregiver, Patricia Stark.
He was the brother of the late Domenic Morra, Pasquelina Sarti, and Concetta Robichaud.
