Obituary

Marco Island, FL - Carlton M. "Tex" Sampson, 70, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, October 18, 2012, while vacationing in New England. He was born in Ada, Oklahoma, one of three children to Carlton James and Roberta (Vaden) Sampson. He and his wife, Dee, owned and operated Sampson Air Conditioning until their recent retirement. They enjoyed traveling across the U.S. in their RV. On one of their road trips, Tex fell in love with the Roan Mountain area of Tennessee. He and Dee built a second home there, nestled among the beautiful meadows and mountains. Tex was an outdoor enthusiast and loved hunting, fishing, farming, and boating. He also enjoyed bowling and Happy Hour.

Besides his wife, Delia "Dee" (Davis) Sampson, Carlton leaves his three sons, Corwin Sampson, Ken Sampson, and Haydn Combest; a brother, Danny Sampson; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and many, many close, loving friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tonya Combest, and brother, Hal Sampson.

Services will be held at Wesley United Mothodist Church, Marco Island, FL, at 3 pm on Saturday, November 3, 2012. Memorial donations may be made to UMass Memorial Medical School by one of the following methods.
