Obituary

Berkeley Benson Brewer passed over on October 16, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was a retired mechanic, farmer, and member of Disabled Veterans of America. Mr. Brewer was a member of the “Greatest Generation”, having served during WWII in the 121st Infantry 31st Dixie Division.

Second wife Greta Brewer, along with his children, Eddie (Dianne) Brewer and Allison (Reggie) Brewer Tribble, daughter-in-law Janet Brewer and son-in-law John Stark survive him. Grandchildren Erik, Justin, Evan, Marley and Madison Brewer, Brewer Stark, Kimberly Howell and Breeona Archambault. Great grandchildren Abigain, Emmanuel, Clara and baby Brewer. He also leaves behind a sister, Avis Jean Dean and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Brewer was preceded in his passing by his first wife of 61 years, Geraldine Atkins Brewer. It was to this union his children were born. A daughter, Beverley Benson Brewer Stark, and son Melvin Atkins “Bubba” Brewer also preceded him.

Visitation will be Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Coffeeville, MS where Mr. Brewer was a member. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church with Dr. Thad Moore and Bro. Erik Brewer officiating. Burial will be at Dividing Ridge Cemetery in Yalobusha County, MS.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution or donation to the Beverley Brewer Stark Endowed Scholarship Fund at Northwest Community College or the American Cancer Society.
