Mrs. Nancy (Matson) Sullivan, beloved wife of the late Benjamin J. Sullivan and a resident of Peabody, formerly of Somerville and Medford, died at Brooksby Village in Peabody on Tuesday evening, October 16, 2012. She was 88 years old.
Born in Lancaster, New Hampshire, on September 4, 1924, she was the beloved daughter of the late Trevor and Edith (Currier) Matson. Nancy was a graduate of the Chandler Secretary School in Boston and was employed as a secretary for Tufts and Boston University for many years. She enjoyed traveling in her spare time, especially to Bermuda, England and Scotland. In her younger years, she also enjoyed knitting and sewing.
She will be very sorely missed by her two loving sons; Lawrence J. and his partner, Leslie Rentel, both of Alton, New Hampshire and Robert N. and his wife Elizabeth Sullivan of Newport News, Virginia. She was also the loving grandmother of Michelle and her husband Shaun, Christine, Eric and his wife Ann, Matthew and his wife Michele and Amy and her husband Keith and great-grandmother of Kaitlyn, Michael, Shaun, Justin, Tyler, Trinity and Jenna. Nancy was the devoted sister of the late Patricia Claverie.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance.
