Mr. Frank J. DeFilippi, age 91 of Medford MA, died Tuesday in Mt. Auburn Hospital Cambridge, following a brief illness. He is the beloved husband of more than 70 years to Elsie (Diaddario) DeFilippi. Mr. DeFilippi was born in New York City, the son of the late Pasquale and Maria (Fiortivi) DeFilippi. At the age of 18, he joined the U.S. Marines and served during WWII. Mr. DeFilippi was a plumber and the founding member of Winter Hill Plumbing of Somerville still operated by his son. Mr. DeFilippi is a proud member of Local #12 Plumbers Union of Boston. He was a religious man, a communicant and member of St. Francis of Assisi church family. Nothing gave him more satisfaction than spending time with his loving wife and family.
In addition to his wife he leaves three sons: Frank DeFilippi and his wife June of Dracut, Paul DeFilippi and his companion Paul Bigwood of Shrewsbury, Joseph DeFilippi and his wife Patty of Medford. Loving grandfather of Frank, Gina, Joseph & Michael. Great Grandfather of Paul, Stephen, Sarah, Brian, Gioia, Joseph, and any day either Elsie or Michael. Dear brother of Sadie Pesce of NJ, Gloria Tamborino of NJ, Eleanor Monaco of FL, Patsy "Jr." DeFilippi of NY and the late Clemente, Joseph and Jerry DeFilippi and Marianne Terlizzi. Cherished uncle of several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 5 through 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
