Obituary

Donald T. McDermott, 84, of Windham, NH passed away Sunday, Sept. 23rd at his home.

Donald was born in Leominster, MA August 15 1928 to the late Josephine (Donnellan) and Nelson J. McDermott. He was raised in Billerica, MA and graduated from Howe High School. He then spent 4 years in the United States Navy, before attending Tufts University, He worked for over 32 years for Western Electric, AT&T, which later became Lucent. For a few of those years, he was loaned to Raytheon and worked as a supervisor on the Safe Guard Project. He retired from AT&T as a Public Relations Specialist. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

He resided in Windham, NH for 35 years and his neighbors were like family. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Parish.

Donald was a lifelong outdoorsman, who enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, mountain climbing, tennis, and skiing. He loved nature and over his lifetime he had several dogs that were very special to him.

He was predeceased by his brother, Nelson J. McDermott, Jr. and two grandchildren Casey & Claire.

Step Godson: Bill Green & his wife Claire, 5 Grandsons: Connor, Aaron, Ryan, Kevin, and Christopher

Several Nieces & Nephews

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Matthews Church, 2 Searles Rd, Windham, NH on Saturday, Oct. 27th at 10 AM. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the MSPCA, Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA, 10844 or to the charity of ones choice.
