Mr. Albert S. Commito, age 86 of Shrewsbury died Monday in the Shrewsbury Crossing Assisted Living Center in Shrewsbury. He was the husband of the late Gloria (Basino) Commito. Born in Everett, son of the late Domenic and Amelia (Pardi) Commito he is a graduate of Everett High, class of 1944. He joined the Navy and spent the next 2 years in service to our country. Upon his discharge he attended Salem State College where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Education. He continued his education and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Boston University in 1952. Professor Commito earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (C.A.G.S.) in 1956. He was a Professor, at Salem State College in the education department where he taught other prospective teachers the art of teaching. Professor Commito was an avid fan of the Everett High School Football Team, The Crimson Tide and quite fond of photography and a former member of the Greater Lynn Camera Club. In addition he was a diehard fan of Boston’s professional sports teams. One of his favorite destinations was Hawaii. For his 25th anniversary his children sent he and his wife there for vacation. He also loved going to Cape Cod. Nothing gave him more satisfaction than spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is the devoted father of Albert Commito and his wife Anne of Melrose, Anne Commito of Milford, Carol Trickett of Everett, Janis Garland and her husband Paul of Medford, David Commito and his wife Carmelina of Shrewsbury, Amy Commito of Everett and the late Robert and Richard Commito. Loving grandfather of 9 grandchildren. Dear brother of Lena Mancuso of Belmont, Virginia Caruso of Mashpee, Evelyn Kushlan of Peabody and Robert Commito of Plymouth. A Funeral Service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Friday at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 through 8 p.m..Services will conclude with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett
