Thomas Edward “Tommy” Dunn, 60, of Omega died Monday, October 15, 2012, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Omega Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Smith and Rev. Terrell Ruis will officiate with burial to follow in Omega Cemetery in the family plot. Dewayne Wetherington, Larry Dunn, Jim Dunn, Jake Purvis, Andy Harrell, Chad Dunn, Eric Nichols, Josh Nichols and Larry Golden will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Dunn will be placed in the church one prior to the service.
Mr. Dunn was born on February 20, 1952 in Tift County and was the son of Dorothy Golden Dunn of Omega and the late Charles W. Dunn. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Paul Dunn. He graduated from Tift County High School and was a member of Omega Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Dunn is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Roxanne and Matthew Sprunk and Sabrina Dunn Gross, all of Ann Arbor, Michigan; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, David Dunn of Omega, Robert and Lisa Dunn and Tim and Kathy Dunn, all of Tifton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Charlotte and Terry Nichols of Tifton and Joyce Elliott of Omega; one sister-in-law, Mary Dunn; one grandson, Josef Sprunk of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was a very caring, unselfish person. Although he was disabled, he always found a way to help others any way he could. His selflessness is our fondest memory and he will be greatly missed.
