Obituary

Marilyn M. (Tuller) Short, a 2 year resident of Renaissance Gardens at Brooksby Village in Peabody, a former 3 year resident of Melrose and former 39 year resident of Holliston, passed into eternal life on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at her residence following a valiant struggle against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis "ALS". She was 73 years old.

Marilyn was born on August 5, 1939 in Hartford, Connecticut, a daughter of the late Jeanne (Olson) Tuller and Earl N. Tuller. Marilyn grew up in Simsbury, Connecticut. She attended the University of Connecticut, and worked in the insurance industry before becoming a full time Mom raising her children. She returned to the insurance industry in 1983 until retiring with her husband in 1998. In her retirement she and her husband traveled extensively in North America and Europe. They also spent part of their winters on Estero Island in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

Marilyn enjoyed music, and was an accomplished church soloist with a beautiful Alto voice. She also enjoyed gardening, crafts, reading, traveling and most of all, being Nana as was the reason for moving from Holliston to Melrose so that she could be closer to her grandchildren.

Marilyn is the beloved wife of 50 years to Raymond G. Short of Brooksby Village, Peabody. She is the devoted mother of Leslie of Wilmington, North Carolina and Daniel G. Short and his wife Patricia of Melrose. She is the loving Nana to Matthew Short and Michaela Short both of Melrose. She is the sister-in-law of Connie Short of Clinton, Connecticut and Kathleen Fox and her husband Parker of Branford, Connecticut. She is also the loving aunt of Elizabeth Howe, Joseph Fox and their families.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Celebration of Marilyn's life on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Renaissance Gardens, 400 Brooksby Village Drive, Brooksby Village, Peabody. Her interment will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
