William P. Carey, 55, of Worcester, died Monday, October 15th in St. Vincent Hospital. He leaves his wife of 32 years, Sherrie L. (Korenblum) Carey; his mother, Florence (Soucy) Carey of Hampton Beach, NH; a brother, Michael Carey and his wife Susan of Hyannis; a sister, Adele Seymoure and her husband Andrew of Hampton Beach, NH; and many nephews and nieces. His son, Brian P. Carey, died in 2003.
He was born in Marlborough, the son of the late Carl Carey and graduated from Marlborough High School in 1975. Mr. Carey worked for the Massachusetts State Police for many years, in both Framingham and New Braintree, before retiring. He was currently working as an activity assistant at the Lifecare Center of Auburn. His true passion was photography; he never left home without his camera. Bill was also a skilled landscape artist. His compassion for the elderly was a gift to the residents of the Lifecare Center, and will be greatly missed.
The funeral is Thursday, October 18th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, October 17th from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
