Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Brookeclaire McLaughlin, 32, died unexpectedly, Friday, October 12, 2012, following an extended illness.
Born in Levittown, New York on November 27, 1979, she was the daughter of Ann Moynahan and the late Dennis M. McLaughlin, and stepdaughter of Michael B. DeCosimo. She had resided in Gloucester since 1989.
Brooke had attended Gloucester public schools. She had been the manager at McDonalds. She later received training and was employed as a certified nursing assistant. Brooke derived great personal satisfaction working with the elderly. She had been employed by Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, as well as the Spectrum Adult Day Health Center in Beverly.
She was an avid reader, and could often be seen walking down the street reading a book. Fiercly independent with a great sense of humor, she had a quick wit. Brooke’s outgoing personality and smile would fill the room. She loved movies, music and most of all, spending time with her children and family.
In addition to her mother and stepfather, she is survived by her children, Adam Jerome and Amberclaire Dowd, her siblings, Deanne, wife of Paul Leavitt, James, husband of Francesca McLaughlin and Emily McLaughlin; eight nieces and nephews, Luke, Kahlan, Jane, Eric, Jason, Denna, Logan and Isabella, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday morning in the Community Church of East Gloucester, 7 Chapel Street, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday evening in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory c/o Ann Moynahan.
