Claire S. (Parenteau) Savage, 78, of Worcester, died Saturday, October 13th in Langdon Place of Dover, NH. She leaves her husband of 51 years, William E. Savage; two daughters, Renee Savage and her partner, Louise Paradis of Gonic, NH and Kathy Savage of Rochester, NY; a son, Michael Savage and his wife, Jill of Charlton; two brothers, George Parenteau of Thompson, CT and Paul Parenteau of Webster; a sister, Rita Bogatowski of Webster; two grandchildren, Cian and Caden and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Emile Paranteau and two sisters, Doris Cervini and Lorraine Parenteau.
Mrs. Savage was born in Webster, the daughter of Maurice and Florence (Pion) Parenteau. Claire was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and of the Sisters of St. Anne. She worked as a secretary at Chain Belt for several years. Mrs. Savage was a crossing guard for the City of Worcester and a volunteer at Heard Street School for many years. Claire enjoyed music, shopping and attending craft fairs. She loved to travel and visited many places including, Hawaii, Alaska, Ireland, Canada and the Caribbean.
Her funeral is Wednesday, October 17th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, October 16th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
