Rosa B. (Fillyaw) Johnson, 89, of N. Dartmouth died Friday, October 12, 2012 at home peacefully with her family by her side. She was wife of the late Neil B. Johnson.
Born in Cedar Creek, NC, daughter of the late Ruben H. and Annie B. (Faircloth) Fillyaw, she had lived in Fayetteville, NC prior to moving to N. Dartmouth in 1964. She was the former owner of Dockside Ice Cream in Padanaram, S. Dartmouth for 20 years and she also worked at the former Midway Bowling Center in Dartmouth. An avid bowler, Rosa enjoyed flowers and people, but most of all she loved being with her family. She will be missed by many. The family would like to thank Southcoast Hospice for the care they gave their mother.
Survivors include 3 children: James “Kenneth” Johnson of N. Dartmouth, Jackie Johnson and his wife Ruby of Rogue River, OR and Florence Marie McCall and her husband W.C. of Fayetteville, NC; 2 daughter-in-laws: Edie Johnson of Kernersville, NC and Becky Rudisill of Anchorage, AK; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; many step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was mother of the late Jerry M. Johnson and the late William H. Rudisill and companion of the late Americo Petavino and Arthur Berard.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Kirby Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
